This Air is Vibrant!

13-Moon Date: Moon 10 Day 11
Yellow Self-Existing Warrior

We are on our way to better health if we add more vibrant food to our diets, increase our water intake and begin to connect more consciously with the air we breathe. Over 90% of the energy used by our bodies comes from oxygen we take in through the lungs and skin. Oxygen is our most important nutrient because obviously we wouldn’t be able to live without it for even a few minutes. Sometimes the word prana and air (breath) are used interchangeably. When we take air into our lungs, its energy is transferred into our bodies. In a forest, for example, or near the beach, do you notice how it feels like we can just breathe easily and deeper? This air is vibrant. This air has an enhanced energy field. If the air we breathe regularly is circulated through air conditioning or heating ducts or smoke filled, this air would be the opposite of vibrant or charged. Of course, one of the most harmful things we can do for our lungs is to smoke cigarettes (or cigars) on a regular basis, especially the national brands.

“Every time you inhale smoke from a cigarette (or cigar), you kill some of the air sacks in your lungs, called alveoli. These air sacks are where the oxygen that you breathe in is transferred into your blood. Alveoli don’t grow back, so when you destroy them, you have permanently destroyed part of your lungs. Smoking paralyzes the cilia that line your lungs. Cilia are little hairlike structures that move back and forth to sweep particles out of your lungs. When you smoke, the cilia can’t move and can’t do their job. So dust, pollen, pollution, and other things that you inhale sit in your lungs and build up. Also, there are a lot of particles in smoke that get into your lungs. Since your cilia are paralyzed because of the smoke and can’t clean them out, the particles sit in your lungs and form tar.”

Quitting smoking might not be easy to do, but it will be so much worth it when you start seeing your quality of life return with your quality of breath. It would be very hard for our bodies to regenerate without enough oxygen. Oxygen is Life. Beginning to breathe more and more fresh air is a very important step in our healing. Not only must we breath fresh air, but we must also learn to breathe fully and consciously. We breathe all day to stay alive, but most people are only using about 10% of their breaths potential capacity. Although, not breathing deeply does not harm us directly, it can have long term negative effects on our bodies.

Deep breathing exercises should be done using our stomach muscles. We need to let our stomach go out as far as possible as you inhale through your nostrils and you can completely fill your lungs and stomach with air. Pause for a couple of seconds. Then exhale out all the air from our lungs and stomach as our stomach gets flatter. Focus your attention on the two pauses that occur while breathing. First between inhalation and exhalation -and then between exhalation and inhalation. Repeat this process over and over mindfully. Just by doing this we will start getting in touch with deep breathing and immediately start feeling the healing benefits.

Affirm: I am healing myself with each breath of fresh air i take in. I am breathing deeper and deeper, relaxing with each exhale.

The Intimate Relationship between Water and Life

13-Moon Date: Moon 10 Day 4
Red Planetary Moon

If good health is our goal, we start with first analyzing the types of food we eat, then we must look towards our water intake. Clean, pure water is essential to life and to good health. Water is life. Our bodies are estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Every system in your body depends on water. Water flushes toxins out of vital organs and carries nutrients to our cells. It’s generally not a good idea to use thirst alone as a guide for when to drink water. By the time we become thirsty, it is quite probable that we are already slightly dehydrated. Mild dehydration rarely results in lasting complications, as long as the fluid is replaced quickly, but overtime, constant dehydration can have a severe effect on our bodies. The digestion and metabolism of food typically gives us about 15% of our bodies water needs. (Examples of some foods that are over 90% water are: watermelons, cucumbers and green peppers.) The other 85% must then come from our liquid intake. Alcohol, soda and coffee are NOT adequate forms of ‘liquid intake’ as they are counter productive, causing actual dehydration. There is no substitute for pure clean water. Filtered water may be a better choice than tap water especially in large cities. My yoga teacher, Satanam Singh, would instruct us to drink about a gallon of water a day as a good estimate. Your water needs depend on many factors, including your health, your diet, how active you are and where you live. (Please note: some types of kidney, liver and adrenal diseases may impair excretion of water and require that you limit your fluid intake.) A good way to tell if you are drinking enough water is to take notice of your urine’s color. If your urine is a dark yellow or brownish in color, immediately drink more water as this typically would be a sign of dehydration. If your urine is clear or a very light yellow in color, then that is a good sign that you are drinking enough water to maintain good health. Keeping our bodies at an optimum level of health requires us to give our bodies enough water on a daily basis.

p.s. drink some water NOW. :)

Affirm: All the cells of my body are renewing themselves constantly. I make good choices for my health, like drinking lots of pure water.

The Healing Power of Raw food

13-Moon Date: Moon 10 Day 1
White Resonant World-bridger

If we are currently facing disease or sickness or lethargy then we must take a serious look towards where we are getting the life force, or prana, to feed our bodies and our cells. We can start with analyzing what we put into our bodies. We must inspect the food we eat, the substances we drink, the medicine we take and what we breathe. In order to get more life force, or prana, we can begin to look at the food we eat and ask if it is healthy and life supporting, or if it is the opposite, and bringing us more death than life.

The foods with the most prana are plant based foods in their original, un-heated (uncooked) state because they are considered raw and alive. (Remember, ‘we are what we eat’.) Raw food includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, grains and legumes in sprouted form, seaweed, micro-algae (like spirulina), and fresh juices. These live foods (living foods) contain a wide range of vital life force nutrients (ie. vitamins, minerals, amino acids, oxygen) and live enzymes. The nutritional properties of live foods are essential to the proper maintenance of the human body. Raw food is easy to digest, and provides the maximum amount of energy, (prana) with minimal bodily effort, thus giving your immunity a fighting chance . Studies have shown that living foods have healing powers that can alleviate many illnesses such as low energy, allergies, digestive disorders, weak immune system, high cholesterol, candida, and weight problems. Research and real life experiences have also shown that a person can prevent the body’s healthy cells from turning into malignant cancerous cells by consuming mostly a raw food (organic) diet. Raw food has been shown time and time again to even begin to reverse certain diseases. Raw foods are much better for your body than cooked foods because heat changes the makeup of food. Processed food and foods that have been over heated, or heated in the microwave have lost all of their life force, and their beneficial enzymes are destroyed. The body then has to work harder and longer to process cooked foods to get any amount of energy from them. I have read that cooked food can lose up to 85%!! of its nutritional value, and when we are sick, we can not afford that sort of loss.

Affirm: I am healing my body. I am open to more healthy ways of living. I am feeling better with each breath i take.

The mind is our most powerful tool for health

13-Moon Date: Moon 9 Day 24
Red Lunar Dragon

The mind is the single most important factor for predicting lifelong good health and longevity. The mind is the essential key to healing ourselves.

Scientific research shows that mind-body factors have a far greater effect upon your health than diet, exercise, exposure to germs or toxins, smoking, genetics, or any other known health risk factors.

“If you’re really concerned about your health, it’s time to start changing your mind.” check out this very interesting link explaining more….

http://www.xubera.com/

“Every thought you think every word you say is an affirmation. All of our self-talk or inner dialogue is a stream of affirmations. We are continually affirming subconsciously with our words and thoughts and this flow of affirmations is creating our life experience in every moment. Our beliefs are just learned thought patterns that we have developed since childhood, many of these work well for us, but others may now be working against us, they are dysfunctional and may be sabotaging us from achieving what we believe we want. Every affirmation we think or say is a reflection of our inner truth or beliefs. It is important to realize that many of these “inner truths” may not actually be true for us now or may be based on invalid or inappropriate impressions we constructed as children, which if examined as an adult can be exposed as inappropriate. You can use “Positive Affirmations“, which are usually short positive statements targeted at a specific subconscious set of beliefs, to challenge and undermine negative beliefs and to replace them with positive self-nurturing beliefs.”

Affirm: My body heals quickly and easily. Every Cell in my body vibrates with energy and health. Loving myself heals my life. I nourish my mind, body and soul.

Continually repeating affirmations with conviction and passion can chip away at even the strongest resistance.
